Spouse Infidelity - Hearing Is Believing

Spouse Infidelity - Hearing Is Believing. Earlier this year, a certain governor from a certain state known as South Carolina admitted to having an affair with a woman from another country. He then offered the usual semi apologies politicians tend to offer when they are caught red handed.

Of course a cheating spouse is not going to be exactly truthful in divulging their extramarital plans. That's the whole point to sneaking around, in hopes of not getting caught by their significant other. So they will use anyone and anything to cover their tracks. All too often some people are more than wiling to run interference and make sure you stay in the dark when it comes to infidelity.

What's interesting is how his staff went out of their way to cover up the governor's dalliance. They were adamant in saying that everything was just fine even though he had left without actually telling anyone his whereabouts.

They like you enough. But their sense of loyalty is someplace else. That means if family and mutual friends have to tell you a bald face lie to keep you from finding out what your significant spouse is up to than so be it.

But it is not like the philandering spouse needs an entourage to get away with it. Many will look their partner in the eye and tell a bald faced lie without even a blink or a second thought. And it works. Not because the spouse that is cheating is a great liar although that does not hurt. Or even that their partner is gullible which also does not hurt.

It is because in many instances the spouse being cheating on had the crazy idea that they could trust their significant other. They held up their part of the marriage contract and for some reason believed the other person would do the same. Consequently when their spouse tells them they are working late or some other excuse they believe it.
